About this event
The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, held on the Godavari roughly every twelve years, opens with the Dhwajarohan flag hoisting at Ramkund, Panchavati, on 31 October 2026, under the schedule the Maharashtra government announced in June 2025 after a meeting chaired by the chief minister. The announced Amrit Snan days are 2 August 2027, 31 August 2027 (the Mahakumbhasnan) and 11 September 2027 at Nashik, with the final bathing day on 12 September 2027 at Kushavarta Kund in Trimbakeshwar. This record runs from the opening to the last Amrit Snan inside this calendar's horizon; the full Simhastha period continues to the flag lowering in July 2028. The record is marked expected because the dated schedule rests on the government's announcement as reported by PTI and agency coverage: the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority exists under the Divisional Commissioner, Nashik, but its own page does not yet publish the full dated schedule.
