About this event
Ayodhya's Deepotsav, the state organised lamp festival on the Saryu riverfront, reaches its tenth edition in 2026. Hindi press reports quoting the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department's work plan put the programme across 6 to 8 November 2026, with the main lamp lighting on 7 November, the day before Diwali on 8 November: around 30 lakh diyas across 56 ghats centred on Ram Ki Paidi, a drone show of some 2,100 drones, and Ramleela stagings in regional languages on 6 and 7 November. A Directorate of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh release issued on 28 October 2026 confirms the 7 November main event, the diya count and the drone show. The record is marked expected because the full 6 to 8 November span rests on press reporting of the department's plan rather than a dated programme published on the department's own page.
