About this event
Nongkrem is the principal annual festival of the Khasi people, held over five days at Iing Sad in Smit, the seat of the Syiem of Hima Khyrim. East Khasi Hills district declared a local holiday on 2 November 2026 to observe the Nongkrem Dance, reported in October 2026, and that gazetted local holiday day is taken as the main dance day recorded here. No organiser page publishing the full 2026 programme was found, so the record is graded expected.
