About this event
Hindi press coverage of the Prayagraj Mela Authority's first planning meeting for 2027, chaired by the Divisional Commissioner, sets out the bathing calendar: the mela opens with Makar Sankranti on 15 January 2027 and closes with the Maha Shivratri bath on 6 March 2027, with Paush Purnima on 22 January, Mauni Amavasya on 6 February, Basant Panchami on 11 February and Maghi Purnima on 20 February between. The authority's plan covers some 925 hectares in eight sectors at the Sangam. The span follows the fixed Sankranti-to-Shivratri pattern; the record is graded expected until the authority publishes its own notice.
