About this event
Chapchar Kut is Mizoram's principal spring festival, marking the end of jhum clearing, and its main state celebration is held at the Assam Rifles Ground (Lammual) in Aizawl. The festival is observed on the first Friday of March, and the Mizoram public holiday list for 2026-27 gives Chapchar Kut on Friday 5 March 2027, the first Friday of that month.
