About this event
Meghalaya Tourism describes Wangala, the 100 Drums Festival of the Garo people, as a two-day harvest festival held in November across the Garo Hills. The Meghalaya gazetted holiday list for 2026, issued under GAD Notification GAA.78/2025/23, fixes the Wangala Festival holiday on Friday 13 November 2026, taken here as the main day of a two-day span on 13 and 14 November. Preparatory reports in October 2026 place the Golden Jubilee 50th edition at the Garo Heritage Village in Chibragre, although some listings give a wider 12 to 14 November span, so the record is graded expected.
